10 Potentially Carcinogenic Foods You Should Never Put in Your Mouth Again

According to the last researches The American Institute for Cancer has made, we can prevent almost 70 percent of the cancers through some simple changes in the diet and lifestyle. With this article we would like to encourage you to make the change and also we want to give you some information of some possibly carcinogenic foods you should avoid in order to prevent cancer.

1. BPA Lined Cans.

Don’t buy any canned food unless has the label BPA free. Laboratory studies in cells and animals have found correlation between BPA  and diseases such as cancer, diabetes, obesity and Infertility. This ingredient, bisphenol-A (BPA), which is found in hard plastic and resin is used to coat metal cans.

2. Cured and Smoked Foods.

We all know that a lot of preservatives such as nitrates and nitrites are added to prevent food from spoiling, but did you know that when cooked, these preservatives transform into by-products named N-nitroso compounds, such as nitrosamines and nitrosamides? These N-compounds are linked to the increased risk of cancers, so you should definitely avoid processed meat such as sausages, bacon, pepperoni, hot dogs, salami and beef jerky.

3. Farmed Fish.

Maybe you haven’t even thought about it, but much more chemical pollution is contained in the farm fish than the wild fish, including PCB’s which is carcinogen. This comes because of the overcrowded fish farms, where the fish are exposed to different disease and the usage of antibiotics is increased. Also they are easy target for sea lice, so that means they are also treated with pesticides.

4. Grilled meat.

Certain types of combustion produce polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or PAHs, same as burning of wood or coal. Another problem is made when a drop of the fat from the meat falls on the fire, creating smoke and flare up, this helps the PAHs to stick to the food we are cooking increasing the risk of carcinogenic exposure.

5. Hydrogenated oils.

Trans-fats or hydrogenated oils are man-made product. The chemical structure of these oils has been altered with intention to stop the product of getting an unpleasant smell and increase their shelf life. The Harvard School of Public Health informs that trans fats are linked with some chronic diseases such as heart diseases and diabetes. Furthermore, chemicals are used in order to change the odor and the taste of the oil.

6. Microwave Popcorn.

Did you know that to prevent oil soaking through the package, the bags are lined with Perfluoroalkyls, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and that the leach of those chemicals goes directly to the popcorn when heated? When these chemicals are consumed, they appear as blood contaminants, so it’s not surprising the fact that they are increasing the risk of cancer.

7. Non-organic Fruits & Vegetables.

Try avoiding non-organic crops as much as you can, we all know that they are conventionally grown with pesticides and herbicides. The pesticides, in particular, have been found to increase the risk of cancer.

8. Processed Foods.

All of the foods that have been processed tend to have numerous of nitrates, nitrites and preservatives that can increase the risk of stomach cancers. Besides, they are full of other unhealthy ingredients as sugars, oils, colors and flavorings.

9. Refined Sugars.

Many researches show that sugar is responsible for many issues in the body, like high levels of blood fats and low HDL levels. Sugar also may increase the risk of heart diseases, obesity, unhealthy triglyceride levels, arthritis and many more. Cancer cells also thrive on sugar.

10. Soda/Sports Drinks.

Watching from nutritional side there is no need to drink any soda or sports drink. These drinks are full of unhealthy ingredients that have been linked to an increased risk of cancer.
